GyroSpace
Persistent engineering memory for AI-assisted development
Git tracks code.
GyroSpace tracks why.
Git remembers what changed. GyroSpace remembers why. It wraps the AI CLI your team already uses — Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Gemini — in a desktop workspace that captures the reasoning, debugging and architectural decisions behind every commit, then makes all of it searchable. Knowledge survives across sessions, branches, developers and time.

Why we are building it this way.
- 01
Memory that outlives the session
AI prompts, terminal history, debugging workflows and architecture decisions are captured and linked to the commits they produced — so the repository can answer why it looks the way it does.
- 02
Brings your own AI
GyroSpace makes no AI calls of its own. It orchestrates the CLI you already pay for — Claude Code, Copilot, Codex, Gemini or a custom command — so there is no second vendor and no duplicated spend.
- 03
Local-first, no telemetry
Session analysis, repository analysis and context generation all run on your machine. Nothing is synced to a cloud, and sensitive configuration values are excluded from memory by design.
- 04
Gyro, the voice companion
A desktop assistant that runs the work when you ask it to — tests, diffs, snapshots, terminal — and can answer privately through a local model when you would rather nothing left the machine.
What you get.
Snapshots, automatic and curated
Opt-in background capture fires on real events — commits, branch switches, test failures, long AI responses — alongside manual milestones you name yourself.
Semantic engineering search
Ask across conversations, terminal history, commits and repository memory: “who changed the MQ retry logic?”, “show previous attempts to fix this”.
Repository intelligence
Detects languages, frameworks, dependency graphs and architectural boundaries across TypeScript, .NET, Python, Java, Go, Rust and more.
Source control intelligence
A GitLens-style panel with multi-repo discovery, diff review, and AI commit summaries generated locally via Ollama or through your own CLI.
Deliberate context handoff
A committable AGENTS.md for AI-readable project memory, plus portable .gyrobundle export so you choose exactly what a teammate receives.
Desktop, not a tab
An Electron application for Windows, macOS and Linux with concurrent per-folder AI sessions, inline approvals and an integrated multi-tab shell.
Under the surface.
Snapshots that fire on real events
Opt-in background capture triggers on commits, branch switches, merges, test failures, deploy commands and long AI responses — with a five-minute cooldown so a busy session never floods the record. Manual milestones sit alongside them, named by you.
Knowledge linked to commits
Prompts, terminal commands, debugging workflows and architecture notes are associated with the commits, branches and files they relate to — a searchable historical layer sitting on top of Git rather than beside it.
Everything on disk, in your repo
State lives in .gyrospace/ inside the project. It is gitignored by default because it holds personal history; sharing is deliberate through a portable .gyrobundle export, plus a committable AGENTS.md that any AI CLI picks up automatically.
Many folders, many sessions
Each folder runs its own concurrent AI session with per-folder status in the sidebar — busy, reply ready, or needs you — plus an optional reminder telling you which folder is waiting while you work elsewhere.
